Carol began dancing at an early age, and from 7 to 18 years studied ballet at the Eileen Colgrove school of Dancing in Bangor North Wales. At the age of 11, she gained a scholarship to Bangor Grammar School for Girls. Carol continued to study dance, completing all her examinations in RAD, the Cecchetti Method and the Empire Society for Teachers of Dancing.<\/p>\n
Outside of dance, Carol studied Tracer\/Draughtsmanship and worked for the \u2018Dennis Ferranti Company\u2019 in Bangor, where screening took place for work involving MI5 (As a draughtsman, not a spy!). She stayed here until she moved south after marriage doing more drawing office work at British Aerospace in Hatfield. Throughout her working life, dancing was her real passion.<\/p>\n
As well as dance, art figures greatly, and Carol was honoured to have a painting exhibited at the \u2019National Children\u2019s Art in Wales\u2019 receiving an Exhibitor\u2019s Invitation.<\/p>\n
While working, Carol attended Russian Ballet and Flamenco classes with company director Dimitri Vladimirov and was chosen to partner his principal dancer for various stage productions.<\/p>\n
Further classes were taken with the Iris Caldicott School of Dancing in Southgate London. Carol studied with the examiner for approximately 8 years where further degrees were gained with the International Dance Teachers Association. But while studying for a Fellowship Miss Caldicott retired to Spain.<\/p>\n
To gain more experience, classes were taken with Eileen Langman in Chingford Essex, a highly regarded Examiner in the Cecchetti Method, whose teaching descended through the line from Maestro Cav. Enrico Cecchetti – Mrs Langman was an examiner to the Royal Ballet School. Classes were continued for approximately 15 years studying ballet from the first grades through to qualifying to teach.<\/p>\n
Spanish was studied for a few years, but German for approximately 20 years. After taking the O level examination, 2 years were spent at A level before continuing the course at Luton University gaining membership of the Institute of Linguists.<\/p>\n
Carol has covered many diverse methods of Ballet which provides a wide range of dance knowledge for the school.<\/p>\n
