Welcome to The Carol Allen School of Dancing
It is with great sadness that I am announcing that I have decided to stop running the dancing school at the end of this academic year. As you can imagine, this has not been an easy decision for me to make, as I have been teaching for many years at the school now, and running the school for the last 3 years.
It has been a very challenging 3 years since I took the school over from Mrs Allen, with keeping the school “going” during the pandemic and then the organisation of the show in March. I do now feel it is the right time for me to pass over the “reigns” to someone younger and to take the school forward with new and fresh ideas.
Therefore, as from September, Miss Maria will be running the school, with Miss Lisa still continuing with her ballet classes and streetdance class. Miss Jenna is taking over the teaching of the children’s tap classes on a Tuesday. I will still be teaching my adult tap class, so you will not be getting rid of me completely!
In case some of you were wondering who Miss Jenna is, she is an ex-pupil and has a long association with the dancing school. She is a member of the show committee and has helped out backstage and at rehearsals with the last two shows. Her two daughters attend ballet classes with Miss Lisa, and Miss Jenna danced in the show in March with the adult tappers. I know she will be a valued member of the teaching “team” and we wish her good luck in her new role as tap teacher.
I will obviously be around to support Miss Maria in the transition period of her taking over the dancing school, and I expect you will see me at examination sessions and any future shows helping out.
I would just like to say a very big thank you to Miss Maria in saying she will take over the school, enabling Mrs Allen’s legacy to continue to carry on in offering dancing classes to the local community. Also, a big thank you to Miss Lisa and Miss Jenna for their support, loyalty and commitment at this difficult time.
I know we all wish Miss Maria every success and good luck with taking over the dancing school, and I know as a wonderful group of parents that you are, you will also be very supportive.
Finally, thank you to all you parents and pupils for your support, loyalty and commitment over the years, I really appreciate it. I will definitely miss everyone so much.
With kind regards
Thank you to everyone involved in this year’s show! You can read a great article about the show in the Welwyn Hatfield Times
