Welcome to The Carol Allen School of Dancing

A message to parents

We would like to say a big thank you to you all, for your continued support and commitment over these very difficult and challenging times.  We really appreciate you attending the online classes, which I know are not ideal, but at least they give continuity, to be able to see one another every week and to be able to dance, which is good for our wellbeing.  The regular online training also enables our students to maintain and improve their dancing skills they have worked so hard for.

At this present time Government guidelines are that dancing schools, along with indoor fitness, gyms and sports centres are not allowed to open their doors.  However, Government updates and guidance are changing daily, so I have my fingers (and toes!) crossed that come September when we start our new term, we will be back to what will be the new normal.

I contacted the local authority (whom we book Panshanger Hall and Vineyard Barn through), at the beginning of this week to find out the situation with them opening up the community centres.  Unfortunately, they have no intention of opening these premises at the moment because of the social distancing rule, and because of managing each site with regards to health and safety and managing the cleaning of toilets etc.  However, I was told that they are reviewing the situation regularly and hope to give me further information at the end of this month.   My last contact with the Barn Theatre was also not good news, and again I am just hoping the situation will change over the summer break.

I will of course keep you all updated, but please be aware that classes MAY have to change, either day and/or time, to allow for the classes to run safely and in guidance with Covid-19 protocol.  Miss Maria, Miss Lisa and I will endeavour to try and keep classes to the same day, but please bear with us if we have to change the timetable for the new term in September.

This current term finishes on Thursday 16th July.  I am hoping to start the new term w/c Monday 7thSeptember.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.

Miss Maria, Miss Lisa and I wish you all a lovely summer holiday break.  Take care and stay safe.

Best wishes

Miss Jean

Tapathon Update

We raised a wonderful £550 for the Welwyn Hatfield Women’s Refuge.  A very BIG thank you to all of those who took part in the Tapathon and to all the sponsors –  it is just amazing.   I have heard from Dee Golder who I am in contact with at the charity, and she is absolutely over the moon with the amount we have raised.   She sends her heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part and to all the sponsors.  If you wish to donate please do contact me and I will send you the charity’s bank transfer details.  Many thanks again and a very deserved round of applause to everyone.

With many thanks.

Take care and stay safe.
